2022 SAL

(4 customer reviews)

From: £15.00

The 2022 SAL is under way!!

The theme is “Wind in the Willows” and the featured artist is Chris Dunn. Apart from that, it’ll be a mystery until it starts, and will be revealed over 11 parts. It has been fully model stitched though and we think you’ll love it!

The cost is a one-off cost – and covers you for the whole stitchalong.

Kits are available as well as just PDFs – we will NOT be issuing printed charts.

For those of you who use Pattern Keeper, please be advised that only SOME of the individual parts will work. These are the ones without backstitch and/or fractionals. Some of the other parts may be readable, but not completely. – you’ll need to view the pdf in a pdf reader, or print it to be able to stitch those.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All charts will be issued as pdf downloads (we’ll email you on release) during the first week of each month – January-November 2022 (leaving December free for finishing). – please remember, as always, to save them to your local device, as the chart links will expire 2 weeks after purchase.
The design is 320 x 414 stitches, and uses 80 DMC colours.
This design *DOES* contain partial stitches, and backstitch, and is designed to be stitched over TWO threads on the counts listed below.
We recommend plain fabric (ungridded), or a pale colour if you like hand dyed fabrics. We’re recommending ungridded because the charts are individually created and the grids may not line up with previous ones. They are easy to place though once the first part is done:)
for 28 count evenweave, allowing a 3″ border all around, your fabric will need to be: 29″ x 36″
for 32 count evenweave, allowing a 3″ border all around, your fabric will need to be: 26″ x 32″
Floss usage: 2022SAL-floss
    First, let me say I love Paine Free Craft patterns. Working with Sarah has always been easy–her customer service is amazing. The rating is for this particular pattern. I’m extremely disappointed.
    The first two installments were lovely and I was so excited with the colors and format. However, next few installments seem to go with another pattern altogether–the colors are drab and the figures are placed in awkward positions. To me, the pattern doesn’t make sense.
    I normally don’t participate in SALs, but I thought with Chris Dunn I was safe. Unfortunately, I wasted a lot of money on materials for a project that will never be completed unless I can figure out a way to “fix” it for my taste.
      I’m sorry you feel that way. It was a deliberate decision to make the characters in the window greyscale to make it appear as if Paisley (the Rabbit) was imagining them as part of her reading experience. Those characters were never part of any other design – they were unique to the SAL.
