The parable of the prodigal son being welcomed home by his father.

But when he came to himself he said, \”How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough to spare, and I’m dying with hunger! I will get up and go to my father, and will tell him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight. I am no more worthy to be called your son. Make me as one of your hired servants.’\”

He arose, and came to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

This is a portion of the full painting showing just the father and son.   We also offer the full painting VRI003 (1669).  This pattern is solidly stitched. Any color fabric may be used.

Recommended fabric: 16 count or higher.

Please note Scarlet Quince designs have blended threads, and our kits are designed for stitching “over 1”.

So if you prefer to use full crosses, you will need 25 count or lower as our kits for 28 and 32 count are designed for stitching with 1 strand over 1 thread (which isn’t possible when you have 2 colours).

14 count kits can come with either 14 count aida or 28 count evenweave (for stitching over 2)
18 and 20 count kits are provided with aida

25, 28 and 32 count kits are provided with evenweave.
